"Cranemaster" Compacted High Strength Ropes
This special rope is produced by a compaction process - the effect of which is to considerably increase its metallic area. The result is a compacted rope whose minimum breaking load is well in excess of the equivalent size/type of conventional wire rope.

Advantages include: Higher breaking load Increased fatigue life Proven by in-house testing and practical experience, the fatigue life of a compacted rope is well in excess of that of a conventional steel wire rope. Resistance to Crushing The greater infill of steel in the compacted rope provides added resistance to crushing, an advantage where multi-layer drum winding is involved. Resistance to Abrasion Through compaction a greater surface area of strand wire is produced giving improved resistance to abrasion. Reduced Drum and Sheave Wear The greater surface area of strand wire in contact with drum/sheave reduces contact pressures. Improved Modulus/Reduced Elastic Stretch The compaction process reduces the stretch by increasing the metallic area above that of a conventional rope of the same diameter. Cranemaster Multi-strand Ropes Provide Improved Rotational Stability Compacted multi-strand ropes rotate at a lower level than conventional multi-strand ropes and do not retain any appreciable permanent rotational displacement.
